German Food
The German kitchen is appreciated and also well known world-wide. Even abroad German food has a very high value, since it stands for quality and enjoyment. Therefore, not only gourmet fans hold German food dear, even simple dishes are very tastfull. Basically, fundamental different ethnic specialities can be found in the different regions of Germany. For example, in Northern Germany mostly heavy, hearty dishes with meat, potatoes and cabbage are served as traditional food, at the coastal regions there are many fish dishes as well. In South Germany there are more grains and noodle food dishes, by which influence of the Central European kitchen here the potato is predominantly replaced by noodles. However, in Bavaria very hearty food can be found for instance Kalbshaxen. South Germany is also known for its delicious cheese specialities as well as rich milk products.
